This photo shows part of the DCpower supply and the problem area I had on the 5100 I fixed. The circled areas are the resistors that failed on mine. You can see they are very close to some larger resistors that get hot. That brown discoloration on the label and the parts in this area is not dirt, it's the protective coating they use which has turned brown from being cooked by the heat. They updated these boards over time, and this is one of the areas they fixed. The latest model had double the number of those small MELF resistors to the left of the label, and they moved those other resistors around. If anyone has an older board like this that is being worked on, I would definitely change the resistors circled below. Maybe replace all those MELF resistors, they're cheap. I'd recommend a hot air station for this, the traces are small and will pull from the board easily.
