How to install Google SketchUp on debian

 The steps involved to install Google SketchUp on debian are
Install wine and
Install SketchUp
How wine is installed is covered in the article How to install wine on debian. Please read it before continuing.
Install SketchUp

Download the current SketchUp version from Google with
wget http://dl.google.com/sketchup/GoogleSketchUpWEN.exe
and run the setup with wine:
wine GoogleSketchUpWEN.exe
After the installation process run SketchUp. SketchUp should fail to run. Next alter a key in the registry of wine. Run
wine regedit
and alter the value of the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Google/SketchUp8/GLConfig/Display/HW_OK
from 0 to 1.
